==Biography==
Victor Blanco was a citizen of [[Monclova, Coahuila]] (in [[Mexico]]) and was brother-in-law of [[Ramón Músquiz]]. In September 8, 1823, was alternate [[deputy]] of the provincial deputation of Coahuila. Under idea of establishment a colony in Texas, Blanco appointed [[Samuel May Williams]] as his agent to select the place in the which would be established the colony. However, the plans was never carried into practice.
 
Blanco was appointed Governor of [[Coahuila and Texas]] in May 30, 1826. During his administration in Texas, Blanco defeated the [[Fredonian Rebellion]] of 1826. He remained this charge of governmnent in Texas only until January 27, 1827. Some month after, on July 4, 1827, Blanco was appointed [[Vice Governor]] under the Constitution of Coahuila and Texas, being the first person appointed vice governor in this constitution . Later, between 1833 and 1835, he was [[senator]] in the [[Mexican Congress]], being reelected to the same charge in 1835. In the legislature, he was against of request of [[Stephen F. Austin]] about the Texas separation from Coahuila. In 1841 Blanco was in Monclova, where he fought in a military campaign against certain Amerindian peoples. He later fought in the [[Mexican War]].
