Chadwick Aaron Boseman (born February 9, 1982)[1][2][3][4] is an American actor, playwright, and screenwriter. He is best known for portraying Jackie Robinson in the 2013 film 42, and James Brown in 2014's Get on Up.
Life and career
Boseman was born in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Anderson, South Carolina, the son of Carolyn, a nurse, and Leroy Boseman, who owns an upholstery business.[5][6] He graduated from T.L. Hanna High School in 1995,[7] and later attended and graduated from Howard University in Washington, D.C.. He starred in the 2013 film 42 as Jackie Robinson.[8] He has also had television roles in Lincoln Heights as Nathaniel "Nate" Ray and as Sergeant McNair in the NBC television series, Persons Unknown. Boseman also stars as Lt. Samuel Drake in the action-thriller The Kill Hole.[9]
In 2014, Boseman co-starred in Draft Day, and starred as James Brown in Get on Up.
