Frequently asked questions

Viewers are workspace users who have more limited permissions than Editors. In addition to being able to view data apps and notebooks, they can comment on notebooks but they cannot edit them. Viewers can be added to Pro or Enterprise workspaces. You can learn more about workspace roles in our docs.

Yes, with monthly billing editors are $25/month and viewers are $10/month

When you upload files to your notebooks (eg: .csv, .svg, .png files) or deploy data apps to Observable, we limit the size of each file to 50 MB. There’s also a rolling quota of 1 GB over a 28 day period per user on uploads. For teams, we pool the quota for all team members.

Yes! All workspaces support secrets (encrypted access keys) and database connections to access data sources from private notebooks. Learn more about database connections and secrets.
