The premiere of the much-anticipated major story expansion for the game Elden Ring is fast approaching, which is why more information about Shadow of the Erdtree is hitting the Internet. The most "hardcore" fans of this game from FromSoftware studio may be very dissatisfied with the news about the complete lack of trophies in the DLC.

This information was provided on the reliable profile PlayStation Game Size. The lack of system "achievements" applies to PS4 and PS5 consoles, but it can be assumed that the situation is similar with other platforms. Especially looking at the examples of other DLCs from FromSoftware.

Expansions for Dark Souls II and Dark Souls III didn't support trophies at all, both on Sony consoles, Xboxes, and PC. An interesting fact is that the only "large" expansion from the Japanese offering achievements is The Old Hunters for Bloodborne. Let's note here that all games released on PS4 or PS5 must have trophies implemented, but this doesn't apply to DLC.

The studio responsible for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree didn't reveal why it decided to make such a move. While it may be somewhat puzzling and disappointing, there is a certain advantage to it. For instance, players who have fully completed Elden Ring on Steam won't lose the badge awarded for completing all achievements, as would happen if the expansion introduced new achievements.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree will be released on June 21 on PC, PS4, PS5, XOne, and XSX/S.
