Today, my daughter had to write a paper about her father, and while she put in a lot of effort, one line stood out and really made me smile: “My dad works for Siemens Energy, and his job is to make sure that we all in the UAE have electricity.” It’s moments like these that remind me why I love what I do. More than 600 people start their jobs on the same day. Coincidence? No, apprenticeship. Today was a special day: our apprentices in Germany have started their careers with us at various locations across the country as in the photo below in Mülheim, for example. As apprentices, they begin their careers with a mix of on-the-job and classroom training. It's a great way to build knowledge while learning practical skills. We are delighted to be supporting so many young people and look forward to seeing where their journey takes them. Digitalization is essential for a modern and secure grid. ⚡ At #CIGRE we announced an agreement to acquire a 76% stake in GRIDPULSE d.o.o., a leader in line monitoring and rating of overhead lines. By joining forces, we aim to combine line and substation monitoring to enhance grid management, and ultimately improve electricity reliability and efficiency. Ramping up green hydrogen in Germany! ⬆️ We will be supplying a 280-megawatt electrolyzer system to German utility EWE AG. The plant is expected to go into operation in 2027 and will provide up to 26,000 tons of green hydrogen annually for various industrial applications in the region. Collaborations like this are key to achieving sustainable, reliable, and affordable energy.
