„It Was a Serious Moment Because the Actress Really Died”. The Big Bang Theory Let Fans down with This One Scene, and to This Day They Can’t Get Over This

The Bing Bang Theory is a beloved sitcom that was cherished by viewers, however, while it generally performed really well and was capable of positive surprises, as in the scene with James Earl Jones and Carrie Fisher, but it also had its worse moments. One of them was recently pointed out by fans, who discussed their favorite emotional scenes involving Sheldon.

And one of them, unfortunately, at the same time is spoiled, because in a poignant moment the creators decided to squeeze in a joke that, according to viewers, destroyed its emotional charge. The scene in question is the 15th episode of TBBT's 8th season, in which Howard told his friends about his mother's death. Sheldon, who doesn't always know what to say at such moments, approached Howard, mentioned his dad's death and said a touching thing to him: “I didn’t have any friends to help me through it. You do”. So he showed him support in a difficult moment. After these words, Penny said a joke, followed by laughter in the background, and this is what viewers have a big problem with.

Especially since this scene was a farewell not only to Howard's mom, but also to her actress, Carol Ann Susi, who passed away in 2014. Fans of The Big Bang Theory are of the opinion that although it is a comedy series, jokes are not always necessary, and this scene should have been kept in a more serious tone.

It was a serious moment because the actress really died, it really didn't need undercut with a sh**ty callback and the sh**tier laughtrack – Living-Mastodon.

I hated that part. It ruined a really sweet moment. Yeah it’s a sitcom but it doesn’t have to be jokes all the time – rstick369.

Some fans have a problem with this scene, which was indeed one of those special, moving moments in which the characters of The Big Bang Theory showed support for each other in the face of tragedy, and said goodbye to an important person not only from a storyline perspective, but also behind the scenes. Despite the banter that went into it, however, it still comes across as a bittersweet moment that showed these characters' close bond and willingness to help each other.
