"Red light district"

edit

I removed the characterization of 1970s Downtown as a "red light district". That phrase describes an area that is primarily known for its open prostitution. While there certainly was much illegal and sleasy business downtown in the 70s, it was hardly a vice capital. It was simply another urban neighborhood suffering from the usual problems of the period: economic decline, the migration of the middle class to the suburbs, and drug-related crime. If you must use a glib, simplistic phrase for that set of urban problems, you'll have to find another one. ----Isaac R 07:15, 22 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Pedestrian Friendly Scale?

edit

I changed the article to say that the area is pedestrian friendly, and has buildings shorter than 27 stories in height... the previous way it was written seemed to imply that the shortness of the buildings makes the area more friendly for pedestrians, which doesnt make sense to me. Street/sidewalk layout helps pedestrians, building height isnt an issue at all. BBnet3000 (talk) 05:26, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

"views of downtown"

edit

The composite image subtitled "views of downtown" contains images that are not in downtown San Jose.. it seems the image is intended to represent all of San Jose, not just downtown. --Frantik (talk) 18:49, 5 May 2013 (UTC)Reply
