Number injured

[edit]

Current "Injured 20" may be incorrect. https://tass.ru/proisshestviya/11339895 - 21 people were taken to hospitals; 18 children, and 3 adults were hospitalized (6 children in ICU https://tass.ru/proisshestviya/11340343). `a5b (talk) 11:03, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Update from ministry of schools about hospitalized victims: 14:17. Минпросвещения сообщает, что из 21 пострадавшего 13 находятся в состоянии средней тяжести, восемь — в тяжелом. = reports that out of 21 victims, 13 are in a state of moderate severity, eight are in severe. Some victims may be not hospitalized, there were ..32 people were injured report from official TASS news agency.`a5b (talk) 11:22, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The update from A5b comports with what is being reported by the BBC. (https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-57069589) It is possible that the number of individuals killed may increase given the number of severely injured persons. Jurisdicta (talk) 22:59, 11 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

" .. life imprisonment (equal to capital punishment in modern Russia) ... " - so, in the Russian Federation, that's a cognomen for "sentenced to death"?? Something's not correct here. Can we find an alternate source? This is a very widely-covered subject and English sources should be extremely plentiful.50.111.52.57 (talk) 20:59, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not really. English sources have dropped this right after day one. The only sources that will continue to cover this are obviously Russian. Love of Corey (talk) 22:30, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
They lost interest when they realised that the gunman doesn't appear to have had an ideological motive. Jim Michael (talk) 22:41, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Only 2 days old. Pretty bloody recent.50.111.52.57 (talk) 13:32, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I wouldn't say that. From my observations, U.S. sources don't really cover international mass shootings too much. Love of Corey (talk) 22:50, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
This is true. Russian and local sources will give us the most immediate events. Local can cover it indefinitely. I noticed this with the 2019 Virginia Beach shooting that I am still getting updates from the Virginian Pilot. Kellis7 23:25, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, I see. Love of Corey (talk) 23:36, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand Russian, nor its law, but I interpret this as saying that his crime was deserving of the death penalty per that statute, but a statute since then has overruled the death penalty, so instead it is replaced with life imprisonment. I do agree that the wording is highly "huh?" and someone who understands the law better should make it clearer. Plus, a Google translate of the source says nothing about "capital" or "death" at all Unknown Temptation (talk) 19:46, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
