Below we've highlighted some of what we think are the best weapons available in Starfield. We described their specs and explained how you can acquire them.

Big Bang

1 - Starfield: Best weapons - Basics - Starfield Guide
  1. Weapon type: Particle beam shotgun
  2. Ammunition: Heavy particle fuse
  3. Physical Damage: 32
  4. Energy Damage: 94
  5. Big Bang is an extremely efficient shotgun, making it the perfect weapon for the later stages of the game. A regular Big Bang appears randomly in the game - you can find it by searching the bodies of dead enemies or chests. You can obtain an upgraded version of this weapon, for example, during the mission for the United Colonies faction Delivering Devils (in the box in the room with the intercom).

Boom Boom

2 - Starfield: Best weapons - Basics - Starfield Guide
  1. Weapon type: Rare shotgun
  2. Ammunition: Caseless shotgun shell
  3. Physical Damage: 55
  4. Boom Boom is a seemingly unimpressive weapon, which is a very fast and powerful shotgun. It has laser sights and a large shell capacity, but it's the random switch to explosive rounds that sets it apart. The shotgun is therefore perfect for encounters with larger groups of enemies.
  5. You can buy this weapon at Neon Tactical for 17207 credits. The store is located in Neon on the planet Volii Alpha in the Volii system.

Deadeye

3 - Starfield: Best weapons - Basics - Starfield Guide
  1. Weapon type: Pistol
  2. Ammunition: 7.5mm Whitehot
  3. Physical Damage: 110
  4. Deadeye is a fairly slow-firing pistol, but it's extremely powerful. It has a laser sight and armor-piercing bullets, and it deals massive damage.
  5. You will receive the weapon as part of a task for the Freestar Collective. It will be given to you by Sheriff Daniel Blake during the mission called Deputized.

Experiment A-7

4 - Starfield: Best weapons - Basics - Starfield Guide
  1. Weapon type: Rare shotgun
  2. Ammunition: 15x25 CLL shotgun shell
  3. Physical damage: 131
  4. Experiment A-7 is an incredibly good automatic shotgun with a laser sight. The weapon provides an Exterminator bonus, which enables you to deal 30% more damage to aliens.
  5. You can get the shotgun during the main quest called Entangled When Ethan Hughes opens the door for you, ask him about monsters - you will be able to use persuasion on him. If you manage convince him, he will give you Experiment A-7.

Justifier

5 - Starfield: Best weapons - Basics - Starfield Guide
  1. Weapon type: Rifle
  2. Ammunition : .50 caliber caseless
  3. Physical Damage: 93
  4. This rifle has a laser sight and deals significant damage. Thanks to its long barrel, it is perfect for long-distance battles.
  5. You will receive Justifier for completing all tasks for the Freestar Collective. It will end up in your inventory after completing the mission called The Hammer Falls.

Professional Calibrated Breach

6 - Starfield: Best weapons - Basics - Starfield Guide
  1. Weapon type: Shotgun
  2. Ammunition: 15x25 CLL shotgun shell
  3. Physical Damage: 210
  4. This shotgun with laser sights is slow, but it deals a lot of damage. It has better range than the other good shotguns (Big Bang or Boom Boom), so it can be used for any type of battle.
  5. You will buy this weapon from Lieutenant Azevedo at the Red Devil habs on Mars. You will get there while performing missions for United Colonies. The local stock is random, but Azevedo sells similar, very good shotguns.
