Syed Abdul Malik (1919–2000) was an eminent Indian novelist of Assamese literature, hailed from Naharani village near Dergaon in Golaghat district of Assam. He was the president of Asam Sahitya Sabha in 1977 held at Abhayapuri.

Malik received many awards, including Padmashri, Padma Bhusan,[1] Sahitya Akademi Award,[2] Sankar Dev Award, Xahityacharyya, etc.[3] Malik won Sahitya Akademi Award in 1972 for his novel Aghari Atmar Kahini (Tale of a Nomadic Soul).

He died on 20 December 2000.[4]
