Diablo 4: Best character class Diablo 4 guide

Choosing the best character class can make it easier for you to play Diablo 4. Our guide provides recommendations for the strongest and easiest character class to run the game.

Last update: 07 June 2023

Before starting your adventure in Diablo 4, you may be wondering which character class to choose. In our guide, we have compiled the recommended hero classes, as well as the optimal classes for beginners, which are easier to play and develop than the others.

Note - The list of recommended classes is based on the release version of Diablo 4. Classes are constantly rebalanced and it may happen that after a game update, some will become significantly stronger, while others will be less powerful. This has already happened, e.g. with the Necromancer class, which was deliberately heavily nerfed after beta-testing.

Best class

In our opinion, the best classes in Diablo 4 are - Diablo 4: Best character class - Basics - Diablo 4 Guide

In our opinion, the best classes in Diablo 4 are:

  1. Sorcerer - It has very useful elements-based spells. You can also easily deal area-of-effect damage to weaken or stop groups of enemies. Balancing the available mana supply can be a problem, but you can use, e.g. items and passive skills to increase its limit.
  2. Rogue - You can play this class in 2 basic ways: fighting at a distance or in close combat. In our opinion, better results can be achieved by using ranged weapons and focusing on maximum damage from explosions. This is possible thanks to the Shadow Imbuement ability, which deals shadow damage. Rogue can also move around the battlefield efficiently and avoid damage.

Easiest class

For some players, Diablo 4 will be the first game in the series, or they may be returning to it after a long break. We recommend 2 character classes that are relatively easy to develop and offer various development paths. They are:

  1. Sorcerer - It's best to focus on one specific element and we recommend ice. It will allow you to slow down or completely stop your opponents. You can then very effectively weaken and kill temporarily defenseless enemies. Choose abilities from the same element in each skill tree path.
  2. Barbarian - This class is very similar to the classic warrior and what's more, it is well known from previous Diablo games. It's best to focus on skills that inflict bleed and those that create thorns. Keep in mind that the Barbarian can die more easily than other classes, meaning that and you should focus on increasing your health and armor.
