Bill Murray's dramatic acting debut is an absorbing film that spans continents as his character goes through several lifetimes worth of experiences. He's still Bill Murray and can't resist some mugging, but over all he shows real acting chops. Fine supporting cast, great score and a heartbreaking ending that somehow still manages to uplift. He's turned into a national treasure, but this flick from 1984 is still as good as anything he's ever done.
