The journey that Brady, Prescott, and Kit take so they can be together is frustrating at times...but it does reflect the reality of a venture like this. Two people, whether it's male/female, or any other combination of sexes, takes a great deal of patience and understanding, I can't imagine what trials adding a third to the mix would cause. Just because you’ve found “the one” ...or in this case "the two", doesn’t mean that everything will immediately work out and you will ride off into the sunset finding your "happy ever after". True love takes lots of effort, along with compromise, and sometimes you just have to give it a great deal more time. You can't help but love these three men and hope that their love for each other, even if it is so very new, will be enough. I didn't think that there was enough relationship building between the three of them, even though they had over 300 pages to build in. They were apart much of time and had really only started to communicate one on one, other than their meetings halfway through the story. It didn't seem like enough time for Preston and Kit to fall as much in love with Brady as they were with each other...and I wondered what the possibilities of this actually happening, really were. My husband says that it's just a story and that I "overthink" things. In spite of my "topping from the bottom" it was still a good story, but then, on recollection, I have never had a bad story from Eden Finley.… (more)

Cole and Page have a very unusual start for a relationship. This is why the first pages of the book kept me devoted to the story and characters. The idea is very interesting and even more after you taste even the first 3 chapters. Funny, good characters, good plot, great author – the best combination for a great book.

Cole is ready to do what it takes not to affect his relationship with his son. Still, the beautiful and surprisingly bold Page steels his attention. Even if he will try hard to put the attraction aside for the sake of his boy, this will prove to be harder than it sounds. I like about him that he is not the arrogant type of male. He recognized he made a mistake in his previous marriage and he is not accusing his ex of leaving him. He treats his problem with maturity and does his best to improve his behavior.

Page is also very mature for her young age. She’s learned to manage on her own, constantly trying to stand up to her father’s expectations. She feels the burden of his success and law school seems to be more stressful than difficult. Cole is a distraction, her rebellious passion and also someone who brings out the boldness in her.

I loved this combination. Two very nicely built characters and a lovely story can consist your weekend read. The reader can feel the passion emanating from the pages and will soon be trapped in their story. Read it and enjoy it at least as much as I did.

How annoying - I've just discovered that I didn't enter my favourite Franklin U related book: Brady Tallon's story.

This MMM story moved me very much - I'm pretty sure I shed tears.

It must be a year since I read it, so my memory isn't fresh - decided to look up perplexity, which I've only recently started using. I'm impressed with what a great summary it gives of the many themes covered in this novel:

"Based on the search results, the key themes in "Can't Say Goodbye" by Saxon James and Eden Finley include:

Polyamorous relationships: The story revolves around a relationship between three men - Brady, Kit, and Prescott.

Long-distance relationships: After graduation, Brady has to move across the country, creating a geographical obstacle for the trio.

Public image and societal pressure: The relationship faces challenges due to concerns about Brady's public image, his brother's NFL career, and media attention on his queer family.

Unconventional love: The novel explores how a one-time hookup evolves into a deeper, more meaningful connection between the three men.

Personal growth and maturity: The story focuses on the characters' development and the tough decisions they need to make to maintain their relationship.

Family dynamics: Brady's background as part of a famous queer family plays a significant role in the story.

Communication and commitment: The characters rely on mature communication to navigate their complex relationship, with annual meetups that deepen their connection.

Balancing individual needs with relationship demands: Each character brings something unique to the relationship, with Kit as the nurturer and caretaker, Prescott as the fun-loving enabler, and Brady in the middle.

The novel appears to explore these themes within the context of a sweet, sexy, and humorous MMM romance, challenging conventional relationship norms and examining the complexities of love and commitment in a non-traditional setting."

Foster Grant (from CU Hockey) goes to New York to meet Damon King (from Fake Out by Eden Finley) and sign a contract for him to be his agent. While there, various characters make appearances and Foster finds himself invited to hang out with the NHL Queer Collective.

This bonus scene takes place after chapter 29 of Power Plays and Straight A's. This was a fun addition to the series and a taste of what's to come in the Puckboys spinoff. 3 stars.
