Saw the movie many years ago, just picked up the book. Quick read. Story about a minor league team and its cast of characters. Led by a player manager, Stud Cantrell, the team flourishes in the Florida-Alabama D baseball league.

Very sad life, but gave us some great music. Well told tale. I had a hard time putting it down.
