This is a book that follows a mouse on a journey to the kitchen for a snack. The problem is that there is a big orange cat somewhere on the way, and Nibbles the mouse is very scared to run into the mouse. He ends up mistaking things like a pillow and a scarf for the cat. What I enjoy about this book is that it is a simple enough story that I believe lower grades could comprehend what was going on. There is also a small aspect of repetition so those that are low level readers could pick up on it and join in on the reading. This book could also be relatable to many students if they too get scared easily at night.… (more)

Lots of great troll illustrations, and a funny premise. The resolution was too abrupt, and the story stayed at a surface level. Still, this easy children's chapter book was a fast, fun read. Might be good for reluctant readers, despite some British terminology.

This book is about a pig who wonders why she is born bald since all the other farm animals have some type of hair on them. One day she comes up with a solution of how to not be bald anymore which is to create a wig. All the farm animals are surprised by the pigs wig but make fun of her. At the end of the book the pig realizes it's okay to be bald and that she still is a beautiful pig with no hair.
