I like how this has very basic facial visuals for children to understand so they almost feel they are reading. I think it is helpful for little children learning about recognizing others emotions.

I think this is more of a "hey did you know you could feel this way" it focuses more of the down feelings than the happy up feelings. It doesn't give children ideas on how to fix their emotions or change them. It does encourage them to communicate with others about how it is they feel about something though. It gives them a way to spark up a meaningful conversation.

A silly book about different emotions and moods that will help children to identity emotions in themselves and possibly other children/people as well.

Todd Parr's bold, kid-friendly illustrations portray children expressing all different moods, from "I feel very mad" and "I feel like reading books all day" to "I feel like wearing funny underwear." This is a useful tool when a child is unable to control behavior. Looking through these illustrations helps a child name what s/he is feeling, and that naming process is usually calming and centering.

The book is very brightly illustrated. The author covers a bunch of different feelings that children can experience in life.Todd Parr sends out a message to not keep your feelings to yourself and to share them with someone you love. This book is great for Preschoolers and it can teach them about feelings.

Todd Parr is a brilliantly, creative author who explores feelings in a colorful, whimsical way in this book. It's simplicity is sure to have kids connect quickly! I would read this when talking about understanding feelings in Pre-K through 1st grade. ( )

This short book is a perfect introduction to talking to young children about emotions. The bright, color pictures are inviting and clearly illustrate the text - importantly linking emotional reactions to their appropriate facial and body language. The author ends by encouraging readers to share their feelings -- good or bad -- with loved ones. ( )

"Sometimes I feel silly. Sometimes I feel scared. Sometimes I feel like standing on my head. Sometimes I feel like reading a book under the covers....Sometimes I feel like eating pizza for breakfast. Sometimes I feel like dressing up. Sometimes I feel like kissing a sea lion.... No matter how you feel, don't keep your feelings to yourself. Share them with someone you love. Love, Todd." ( )
