Clever plot, despite some of the standard police plot devices, such as detective moved to a new area following some personal tragedy and having to work with a new team on a murder. DCI Emma moves from Wiltshire to North Yorkshire, without her husband and daughter and immediately has a murder to investigate. Her deputy has been passed over for promotion and has suffered his own personal tragedy. This sets up an interesting cast of characters, with the action set in and around Knaresborough. ( )
