Freediving Instructor | Stress Management | Empowering busy professional women to de-stress and have a balanced, relaxed approach to life
As a freediver, I've learned the art of relaxation before deep diving into the blue ocean on a single breath. It is a combination of deep breathing, body awareness, and mindfulness. Imagine transitioning from heavy breathing after resurfacing from a dive to a state of calm and readiness for another dive within just 2 minutes! To paraphrase Emily Nagoski (the author of Burnout), ‘being ‘well’ does not mean to always stay calm, but to gracefully and quickly move from adversity to calm. Stress is not bad for you; being stuck is bad for you.’ Much like diving, mastering stress is a journey, requiring practice, patience, and perseverance. You know what’s interesting? For the past 5 years, I have researched social-emotional well-being and led a non-profit on social-emotional well-being, only to now embody that knowledge into practice - with every dive, with every breath. Life, like diving, is a process of continuous learning and growth, undertaken one breath at a time. Tell me, how do you ride your waves of stress? Do you fight, flee, freeze, or relax? Share your thoughts in the comments below. #stressmanagement #mindfulness #freediving #courageovercomfort #breathing

Banish Burnout and Thrive | Leadership and Employee Wellbeing | Mentor | Speaker | Trainer | Co-Founder of Memory Matters CIC
Life’s relentless pace often sidelines the activities that bring us true happiness and Is go as far to say keep us well. I see it time and again in my clients: when they reconnect with their ‘thing’ - that one activity where time and worries melt away - there’s an undeniable transformation. Here are a list of my current clients ‘thing’ - Hiking through the moors. - Dancing the salsa. - Reading classic English literature. - Playing the piano. - Cold water swimming. - Painting. These aren’t just hobbies; they are essential elements of our wellbeing. The common excuses of “I don’t have time” or “I’m too stressed and exhausted” ignore the vital importance of these activities. They are not mere escapes; they are pathways to rejuvenation, resetting our nervous system and refreshing our spirits. Witnessing the change in my clients is profound when they reconnect with their thing and make it a non- negotiable part of their week. Their entire presence shifts, their eyes light up, and their stories come alive with animation and energy. I love asking about the ‘thing’. This is the power of engaging in activities that resonate with our inner selves. I encourage you: embrace your ‘thing’. Prioritise it, relish it. It’s an essential component of a balanced, joyful existence. What’s your ‘thing’? #leadership #womeninbusiness #businessforgood Photo credit Elias Michael of my Aunty’s ‘thing’!

Time is a funny thing. It has a way of playing tricks on us, making our happiest moments seem like a distant memory and our toughest times feel like they'll never end. But one thing is for certain: nothing lasts forever. Not the good times, not the bad times, not even time itself. One day we'll look back at the pain and heartache we once felt and laugh at how monumental it felt. And we'll cry over joy and beauty we once experienced, wishing we could go back in time. We can't, all we can do is cherish the memories, learn from our experiences, and keep moving forward. So if you're going through a tough time right now, remember that it won't last forever. And if you're enjoying a moment of happiness, savor it while it lasts. Because time is fleeting, and every moment is precious. Hold on tight to the good times, and have faith that the tough times will pass. Tag someone who needs to hear this message and let's inspire and uplift each other as we journey through this thing called life. #Time #Inspiration #Motivation #SelfCare #Positivity #Mindfulness #PersonalGrowth #LifeLessons #MovingForward #CherishTheMoments #DeboraKeegan #MasterlfeCoach #Lifecoach #Tampa #Nextlevel2024

Anyone a fan of the YouTube channel Veratasium? Recently the host did a review of the longest running study of human happiness (linked) which I wanna talk about. I highly recommend the episode if you haven't seen it. Unequivocally, the two biggest predictors of human happiness are 1) regular exercise, 2) the quality of your relationships. Not money, not fame, not career progress, not LinkedIn titles or badges, not social media likes. Exercise and quality relationships. This is one of the reasons I believe people fall in love with Jiu Jitsu and other similar sports - it's certainly one of the reasons I did! The exercise is great, you're learning a practical and incredibly unique skill, and most importantly you develop a lot of really great relationships with your teammates. Regardless of how crappy your day was, you can always head to the gym and see smiling faces who are glad to see you and ready to help you get some exercise. For many of us these 'gym friends' turn into life-long friendships which we cherish! If you're feeling like your life needs "something else", consider giving Jiu Jitsu or another martial art of your choosing a try! There's a reason why millions of us worldwide choose to do it. edit: feel free to PM me if you want advice on how to get started #jiujitsulifestyle #happiness #exerciseismedicine #relationshipsmatter

Executive Coaching & Mental Fitness for Leaders & Leadership Teams | Create Your Career Edge | Faculty at Mindvalley Coach | Healing
You can’t teach an old dog new tricks... I beg to differ. It is NEVER too late to start over. Change your job, change your country, change your circumstances, change your health… change your life. And what does ALL change start with? Your thoughts. Change your thoughts. Change your life. If my dad can start swimming in the Atlantic at 7am and learn yoga, then you can stop limiting yourself and not a moment too soon. Change is not the enemy. A life not lived is. Be a daredevil this week! Be more my dad 😊 #seniorleadership #executivecoaching #braintraining
