Administrating Redis Cluster
Due to its full-mesh topology and failover mechanism, Redis Cluster is more complicated than a single master-slave Redis architecture. It's of great importance for those who do the administration to learn how to obtain the running topology and status of the Cluster. Moreover, one of the great benefits of using Redis Cluster is its flexibility to add or remove nodes easily. These operations are quite common when you use Redis Cluster.
In this recipe, we will guide you on how to perform common administration operations in Redis Cluster.
Getting ready…
You need to finish the Setting up Redis Cluster recipe in this chapter. You also need a host with redis-cli
installed as a Redis client to the Cluster. For the demonstration environment, you can refer to the table provided in the Getting ready section of the Testing Redis Cluster recipe.
How to do it...
The operations for administrating Redis Cluster are as follows:
- Fetch the state of the Cluster:
redis@192.168.1.57:~>...
