Are you bored with the current weapons available in Helldivers 2? Don't worry, the devs will deliver us a new battle pass next week, which will bring new weapons, cloaks, and armors. Despite this unquestionably positive news, there are also minor concerns surrounding the game. All because of the "trolling" of developers from Arrowhead Game studio.

Helldivers 2 - Warbond: Cutting Edge will appear soon

Today, a one-minute trailer of the Warbond: Cutting Edge pass, which will be available in the game on March 14, 2024, was published on the PlayStation YouTube channel. You will find the material below.

Let's note that the battle pass is referred to in Helldivers 2 as Warbond. The previous battle pass, called "Steeled Veteran," is part of the more expensive edition of the game - Super Citizen.

  1. Cutting Edge will include three different weapon types: the ARC-12 Blitzer shotgun that strikes enemies with lightning, the LAS-16 Sickle rifle that fires lasers, and the SG-8P Punisher Plasma shotgun that launches plasma projectiles at enemies. Furthermore, a new grenade and pistol, the LAS-7 Dagger, will also be available for unlocking.
  2. We will get the same amount of futuristic armor, which are marked with the following codes: EX-03 Prototype 3, EX-16 Prototype 16, and EX-00 Prototype X. See for yourself what they look like by watching the trailer.
  3. In addition, we can add three new capes to our inventory and also use the same number of new "emotes."

On Tuesday, we informed you about the start of "production" of mechs in the Tien Kwan factory. However, the plans became somewhat complicated and the mechs creation was interrupted, as the developers mentioned on social media. It seems that the players first have to deal with the current threat so that the mechs can finally join the fight for democracy.

Scandal with the devs, the CEO of the studio intervened

Speaking of developers, it's worth mentioning that in recent days, developers from the Arrowhead Game studio have offended players quite a bit. Their statements had such a broad impact that the company's CEO, Johan Pilestedt, had to personally engage in the discussion.

Communicating with a brand's community is not always easy, however, openly mocking players shouldn't be the order of the day. One of the animation designers in Helldivers 2, Fredrik Eriksson, allowed himself to talk very casually with Reddit users about the latest changes in the game. His comments included the following sentence:

I'm feeding the rage a little for my own entertainment here, just so you know.

After some time, he apologized to the Helldivers 2 community for his posts, which he called "trolling."

I went a little far with the trolling [...]. I'm sorry if people took offence to it, I'm not going to engage with the community anymore, since as many people have pointed out; we have a community team that should handle that.

The moderator of the official Helldivers 2 Discord channel, using the nickname Mellcor, also "joked" in a similar tone. He directly mentioned the enjoyment he gets from talking to users. He wrote to them: "the sight of you crying amuses me."

Finally, the CEO of Arrowhead Game reacted to this, assuring that this form of communication isn't accepted by the studio. He also mentioned sending the "unruly" team members for training to learn the proper way to represent the company.
