Some Company of Heroes 3 Fans Have Been Playing for Several Years

Company of Heroes 3 was announced yesterday, but it turns out that a group of dedicated fans have been testing the game for several years now.

Yesterday Relic Entertainment announced Company of Heroes 3. For most players it was a pleasant surprise, but it turns out that a small group of fans have been testing COH3 for years.

The developer is owned by Sega. The same Japanese conglomerate also owns Amplitude, which since first Endless Legends successfully uses its proprietary initiative called Games2Gether, which enables players to be involved in the development process at a very early stage. Relic Entertainment also decided to make use of this solution. First, a few fans were recruited to test Company of Heroes 3 and eventually this group grew to 70 selected people.

Players helped in the work almost from the very beginning of COH3's development. When the first ten fans joined the program, a discussion was held with them to determine the theme of the game. The developers did not want to return to clashes in western or eastern Europe. It was decided to stick to World War II, so the group of testers could choose for themselves whether they wanted a Pacific or Mediterranean front - all ten of them voted for the latter option.

In the following years, the participating fans tested many different early versions of Company of Heroes 3 and checked out playable factions and new features. They also regularly filled out surveys that helped shape the direction of the project. Participants of the initiative were very carefully selected from among experienced members of the community, so the developers take their opinions very seriously.

As you may remember, open alpha tests launched along with the official announcement of the game. If you want to take part in them, you must go to the official website and register. The fun will last until August 3. Full version of the game will be released next year, only on PC.
