Players of Helldivers 2 certainly can't be bored. Recently, the brave soldiers of Super Earth effectively eliminated two billion bugs, and now they have received an invitation to liberate Martale, with the practical aim of capturing the neighboring planet Charon Prime without engaging in combat.

  1. Joel, also known as the "game master," presented a very attractive offer to the Helldivers. Specifically - if they drive the Automatons off the planet Martale, they will cut off their supply line and effortlessly take over Charon Prime.
  2. The whole event is called "Martale Gambit" and was described on the official Helldivers 2 server on Discord.
  3. Interestingly, the automatic acquisition of one planet while bouncing off another is set to be introduced in the future to Helldivers 2. Until that time, Joel personally has to engage in transferring the planet.

Currently, players of Helldivers 2 are fiercely fighting for control over Martale. We can track the status of the planet and supply lines through the HD2 Galaxy website. Thanks to the statistics visible on it, we know that the key Martale has already been liberated in 89%.

However, the developers chose not to notify us about the mentioned "gambit" using the game's social media, so only the community gathered on its Discord server learned about it. Perhaps conquering Martale is merely a test of a new mechanic, which is supposed to involve automatically liberating a neighboring planet.

Let us recall that recently Johan Pilestedt - CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios - said more about the balance between introducing new content to Helldivers 2 and fixing bugs. The studio's willingness to consider potential crossovers was also discussed.
