The developers of Valheim are preparing to release a new update. To remove possible bugs and enhance game balance, the devs have chosen to carry out early public testing of the upcoming patch, which will bring in, among other things, a new biome called the Ashlands.

Those interested can now take part in the tests via Steam and PC Game Pass. Iron Gate provided instructions on how to check the new content in a post on its website. Furthermore, we got a gameplay trailer (below), which shows us the atmosphere of Ashlands.

The duration of the testing for this patch and its official release for all Valheim players is currently unknown.

Apart from that biome, the announced patch will also provide us with many other features. The Nordic land will be enriched with, among other things:

  1. 30 weapons;
  2. 3 armors;
  3. more locations;
  4. new soundtrack;
  5. additional mechanics.

These are just some of the new features - the full list of changes can be found on the devs' website. Let's remind that since February 2021, Valheim has been in early access. You can also try the game using Game Pass.

It's worth mentioning that this title, inspired by Nordic mythology, has gathered positive reviews on Valve's platform. Almost 95% of 447,000 reviews strongly praise the game from the Iron Gate studio, in which you can play solo or in co-op mode.
